Author Another Canadian dead in Afghanistan from a suicide bomber. Let’s just get the hell out of there. If NATO has to be there, let them put a ring around the goddam place. Don’t let any weapons in. Don’t any let heroin out. Whatever. Trying to impose democracy at the point of a gun either does not work or is just not worth it. There I said it — maybe with more rage than reason. But I said it.

Trying to impose democracy on the shitholes of the planet makes about as much sense as inviting the inhabitants of same to bring to your World One bailiwick all their religious and other ‘cultural’ claptrap, with the expectation that they will be permitted to carry on here exactly as they do in their places of origin. Put bluntly, both notions are blatantly phucking stupid.
